Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef personality. She was also an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network presenter with her distinctive long, blonde hair with a pumped up personality reveals easy techniques to master and reduces the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top restaurants, has learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions as well as participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in the upper reaches of New York area, Chef Burrell developed a passion for cooking and food early on. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree and a Communications certificate in Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an unforgettable learning experience for me. I didn't have enough knowledge, couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners chef Burrell took a full year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. In Italy, she developed a profound appreciation and understanding of Italian culinary and cultural traditions. This has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell prepares her food. Burrell was a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing challenges. She is also a Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation celebrity ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation in her mentorship role. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for and her passion for cooking, with people around the world.
